Red Planet Pictures’ crime drama, Death In Paradise has been greenlit for a sixth season by BBC One. The fifth season, which concludes its eight-week run this evening, launched in January with the first episode pulling in a 31 per cent share. Filmed on the island of Guadeloupe, each episode a crime fighting team as they solve the island’s most complex and mysterious murder cases. The series was listed as the third highest rating U.K. drama of 2015, and the fourth widest-selling British drama, having been sold to 237 territories around the world including China, South Africa and the U.S., as well as Caribbean countries. The new season will be produced by Sue Howells and is set to air in 2017.
