The competitors of the 2016 Oscars nominees were released today. Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant received the most nods, with recognition in 12 categories. Mad Max: Fury Road was 10 times, and The Martian seven. The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Martian, The Revenant, Room and Spotlight are up for Best Picture. For the second year in a row, no actors of color have been recognized by the Academy, reviving last year’s #OscarsSoWhite hashtag, created by editor April Reign.
