Rogers Communications reported net income of C$495 million and total revenue of C$5.44 billion. The Toronto-based telecommunications and media company owns television and radio stations, cable TV systems, sports franchises, and wireless and telephone businesses.

The company reported a decline in third-quarter profit, although adjusted earnings exceeded expectations as revenue rose 2 percent, driven largely by its media division.

In October, Rogers completed its acquisition of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE). MLSE owns several prominent professional sports franchises, including the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA), as well as other sports and entertainment assets.

The acquisition strengthens Rogers’ position in the Canadian sports market and also reinforces the strategic relationship between Rogers’ telecommunications and media operations. By combining sports ownership with its broadcasting and distribution platforms, the company can leverage live sports content to attract and retain customers, support its media business, and deepen engagement with audiences.
