The 12th edition of MIA (Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo – International Audiovisual Market) opened today at Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Italy, and will run until October 23, 2026.

The event, promoted by ANICA (National Association of Film, Audiovisual and Digital Industries) and APA (Audiovisual Producers Association), kicked off with the launch of the European Investment Hub, a new platform dedicated to financial instruments supporting the audiovisual industry in Europe and internationally.

The inaugural session, which focused on European financing instruments and their strategic outlook, featured contributions from key representatives of national and European institutions, including Giuseppe Abbamonte, director for Media Policy at the European Commission in Brussels; Antonino Stefanucci, senior mandate manager at the European Investment Fund (EIF), representing the European Commission; Charlotte Applegren, secretary general of CineRegio, a European network bringing together major regional film and audiovisual funds; Giorgio Carlo Brugnoni, director general for Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs at the Italian Ministry of Culture; and Enrico Vannucci, deputy executive director of Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s fund supporting the co-production, distribution, exhibition, and digitalization of European cinematic works.
