Korean IP is reaching beyond Asia and into North America. Japan accounts for the largest share of Korea’s webtoon exports at 49.5 percent, followed by North America at 21.0 percent. This shows that North America has become a core market for Korean IP.
Founded by the creators behind transforming robot toys that have sold more than one million units, Korean studio GODBRAVE saw the prototype of its original IP HUNTING HAWK sell out at Wonder Festival in Japan. Using a hybrid pipeline that layers 2D hand-drawn art over 3D CGI, GODBRAVE is creating Korea’s first original mecha feature film for adult audiences, with a three-minute pilot to be produced in December 2026 and a theatrical release targeted for 2029.
