Burak Özçivit, star of atv’s drama series Land of the Sun, made a special appearance in Cannes during MIPCOM.
Özçivit attended atv’s New Season Launch event — held at the Carlton hotel on the opening day of the market — where the Turkish broadcaster presented its upcoming productions to international guests.
The actor received a warm welcome from fans and visitors across the city and met with international buyers, industry professionals and members of the press at the ATV stand.
Özçivit and Burak Sağyaşar, co-founder and CEO of TIMSBI Productions and the producer of Land of the Sun alongside Timur Savcı, were welcomed by ATV general manager Ali Türkarslan and other executives.
Özçivit highlighted love as one of the most powerful themes connecting audiences around the world, noting that viewers from different cultures can relate to the emotions and experiences of the characters they watch. He also underlined the cultural impact of Turkish productions, which introduce Türkiye’s culture, cities and tourism destinations to audiences worldwide. Speaking about Land of the Sun, Özçivit noted that the series brings this universal emotion to the forefront through his character, Kenan Kozan.
