Korea-based Something Special has secured a deal with Switzerland’s OCCAM Productions for Unforgettable Duet, whose second season has just been confirmed for primetime broadcast on MBN in Korea for the end of October.
Unforgettable Duet is an original unscripted series following dementia patients and their family members on a journey to remember. A celebrity host and panel featuring a diverse group of Korean entertainers help guide viewers through each family’s emotional journey. The dementia patient sings a duet with their family member and then the Memory Singer performs a tribute song that captures their personal experience.
Season 2 will also introduce the use of AI technology to transform the protagonists past photographs into moving images, as a way to help families reconnect with cherished memories.
World Alzheimer’s Day is observed globally every year on September 21 to raise awareness and challenge the stigma surrounding the disease and other forms of dementia.
