British broadcaster Channel 4 has launched the first stage of the re-organization strategy that was announced earlier this year.
Under the transformation proposals, overall personnel will be reduced by approximately 340 roles, equivalent to 28 percent of Channel 4’s workforce, by the end of the year.
Priya Dogra, chief executive, said: “The challenges we face require a fundamental transformation in how we work. I know the proposals we are announcing today will be very difficult for many colleagues and will have a significant impact across the organisation. Many talented people who have made an enormous contribution to Channel 4 will be leaving as a result.
Channel 4 reported losses for three consecutive years (£10m in 2025, £12m in 2024, and £52m in 2023) due to “evolving audience habits, increasing global competition, a challenging consumer environment and a volatile advertising market”.
