MIP Cancun has unveiled the five members of the international jury for the inaugural MIP Cancun Scripted Pitch, a new competition created to discover and accelerate scripted projects with international potential.
The MIP Cancun Scripted Pitch is open to creators, screenwriters, producers and production companies from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the U.S. Hispanic market with original scripted series or feature film projects in development and seeking financing and international partners.
The jury is composed of: Monica Albuquerque, VP of Original Content Brazil, The Walt Disney Company; Billy Rovzar, CEO, Lemon Studios; Ivan Stoessel, Content Development expert and creative producer; Gabriela Remirez, VP of Original Content, Mexico, Paramount+; Iralyn Valera, director, Future Development, Telemundo Studios.
Five finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their projects live before the jury and the international MIP Cancun 2026 community on November 19, at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancún, Mexico.
“I am especially proud to introduce such a diverse and complementary jury, whose unique backgrounds and track records reflect different perspectives across our industry,” said Maria Perez Bellière (pictured), director of MIP Cancun. “The collective experience they bring in development, production and content creation will provide tremendous value to the selected projects and their creators. This is exactly what we want to achieve with the MIP Cancun Scripted Pitch: not only to identify distinctive stories with international ambition, but also to connect them with professionals who can bring new perspectives, open doors and create meaningful opportunities for their development and international journey.”
Finalists will receive a complimentary all-inclusive market accreditation, including three nights of accommodation, meals and access to all activities open to registered participants.
Submissions are free and will remain open through September 2, 2026.
