The Italian and international film industries mourn the passing of film producer Fulvio Lucisano, who died on August 18, 2026, at the age of 98.
One of the most influential figures in Italian cinema, Lucisano enjoyed a career spanning more than six decades and was involved in the production of 166 feature films. He played a leading role in the film industry, heading ANICA from 1998 to 2001. In 2005, the Venice Film Festival paid tribute to his career.
Lucisano founded the Rome-based production and distribution company Italian International Film, which became one of Italy’s leading independent film companies. In 2014, the company became part of the publicly traded Lucisano Media Group.
Winner of multiple awards and nominated for two Academy awards, Lucisano has spanned genres and generations, from documentaries to horror movies, comedies and arthouse cinema.
