TIFF: The Market (September 10-16, 2026) has unveiled the International Financing & Project Market, a curated incubator, presented by Ontario Creates, which will unite more than 50 established producers with influential financiers, distributors, sales agents, and executives who can help launch and propel their projects worldwide.

With a focus on content in advanced development, financing, and packaging stages, the selected producers — from Canada, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Ireland Italy, New Zealand, Taiwan, the Philippines, the U.K., U.S., and Zimbabwe — will take center stage in a series of sessions before an engaged audience of peers, investors, and industry leaders.

“The projects, the award-winning talent, and the enthusiasm amongst key decision makers all reflect the emphasis we’ve placed on closing the loop between the ideas and the investments that fuel our global industry,” said Charles Tremblay, head of TIFF: The Market. When projects find the right champions, opportunities become reality and exceptional stories continue to be developed, financed, produced, and shared with audiences across the globe.”

The competitive program features 40 films, 6 series, and 5 innovation projects that reflect a cross section of dramas, genre films, documentaries, animation, musicals, and queer and Indigenous content.

Among the competing projects is a new collaboration from Academy Award nominee Deepa Mehta and David Hamilton with Jeremy Irons attached. The line-up also boasts a documentary starring Booker Prize winner Marlon James and a great representation of TIFF alumni who had films in Official Selection or participated in development labs including Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, Karen Chapman, Darlene Naponse, Shasha Nakhai, Rich Williamson, and Tyler Hagan.
