The Venice Biennale and Cartier will award Italian director and producer Luca Guadagnino the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Prize at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (September 2–12, 2026).
The presentation of the Award to Luca Guadagnino will take place on September 8, in Palazzo del Casinò at 3:00 p.m., prior to the Out of Competition screening of his new documentary, Joie de vivre, produced by MeMo Films. The 7-hour epic documentary revolves around the legendary Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci.
Guadagnino’s films After the Hunt, Queer, Bones and All (Silver Lion for best director in 2022), Suspiria, A Bigger Splash, I Am Love and The Protagonists all premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
