Kanal D is set to premiere drama series Bir Derdim var / Light in the Dark, based on the Mediaset scripted format On the Brink.
The Italian psychological series is based on the figure of Tosca, an unconventional doctor who deals with problematic teenagers. Tosca is a rebellious spirit, who, with her intuition and great sensibility, understands the problems of her young patients. At the same time, she is hunted by a dark secret and fights with her own demons while living a complicated love story with a local prosecutor.
The Turkish adaptation follows the rehabilitation process of a group of young people, including criminals, under the care of psychologist Nilufer Toska. Birce Akalay and Mert Fırat are cast in the lead roles.
The deal between Mediaset Distribution and Ay Yapim was brokered by Sera Film, which manages the MENEA’s rights of the show; the Turkish version will be distributed internationally by Madd Entertainment.
The name and soundtrack of the TV series comes from the legendary song of the rock music group Mor ve Ötesi. The music of the TV series will be produced by Aytekin Ataş and supervised by Mor ve Ötesi.
The series, which was filmed inside a Turkish hospital entitled to Giovanni Agnelli in Istanbul, will premiere in November.
