Electric Entertainment secured five licensing agreements for its crime series Almost Paradise.

NBCUniversal International Networks will premiere Almost Paradise on Calle 13 in Spain. Meanwhile, Universal TV will debut the series in Africa. The Los Angeles-based production and distribution company signed a deal for the series to air on 2+2 Channel in Ukraine. Additionally, CDC will distribute Almost Paradise in Latin America and Eagle Films will distribute in the Middle East.

Almost Paradise originally premiered on WGN America in the U.S. in March 2020. The first U.S. TV program to be filmed entirely in the Philippines, the series revolves around Alex Walker, a former U.S. DEA agent who was forced into early retirement on a tropical island in the Philippine Archipelago. Despite his efforts at a tranquil new life, Alex falls back into a world of dangerous people and deadly situations.

Dean Devlin, CEO of Electric Entertainment, said, “The beauty of Almost Paradise is that, like many of our other programs, it has universal appeal. Audiences all over the world can relate to a flawed hero fighting crime, somewhat reluctantly during his “retirement.” It’s quite rewarding for us to see these international territories picking up on the theme of the show.”
