All3media International signed pre-sales deals for Roadkill.
Produced by The Forge for BBC One with PBS Masterpiece in the U.S., the upcoming political thriller starring Hugh Laurie will premiere in the U.K. on October 18, 2020. The series follows Peter Laurence, a political outsider with ambition. Fresh from a successful libel case against a newspaper alleging corruption, he’s a man on the up with a closet brimming with skeletons and plenty of enemies.
The independent distributor signed a pan-territory deal for the series with HBO covering Portugal, the Nordics, and the CEE region. ABC Commercial in Australia secured the first window television rights. Meanwhile, Stan picked up the second window SVoD rights for the region.
Additional pre-sales deals have been closed with TVNZ in New Zealand, NPO in the Netherlands, Magenta TV in Germany, Intervision in Greece and Cyprus, Kinopoisk in Russia and the CIS, Siminn hf in Iceland, and Telefónica in Spain. Dazzler Media secured home entertainment rights in the U.K. and Eire. The series also was picked up in Korea by KT Hitel.
Maartje Horchner, EVP Content at All3media International, said, “The Forge has built an incredible reputation for delivering original and innovative premium drama. Ackley Bridge, Dark Money and then the Jack Thorne trilogy, commencing with National Treasure, Roadkill is the latest in this success story, and we’re very pleased to see so many international broadcasters already onboard as the drama debuts officially with its MIPCOM premiere status. Its stellar ensemble cast and a gripping fictional storyline, set amid the ever-shifting dynamics of 21st-century politics, make Roadkill one of this year’s must-see contemporary thrillers.”
