Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) will produce a contemporary adaptation of Child’s Play for Orion Pictures.

The feature film tells the story of a mother who gives her son a toy doll, which has sinister consequences. It stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gabriel Bateman. David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce under their banner KatzSmith Productions. Lars Klevberg is attached to direct from the screenplay written by Tyler Burton Smith.

Both Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson will serve as executive producers.
