The American Film Market announced its new programming for this year’s 39th edition.
Taking place from October 31-November 7, 2018, in Santa Monica, the market will showcase industry leaders and experts in roundtables, workshops, and spotlight events. The conference portion begins November 2 with The Global Perspective. Jean Prewitt, president and CEO of the Independent Film & Television Alliance, and Charles Rivkin (pictured), chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, will discuss the major challenges and opportunities taking place in the film industry.
The programming lineup also will spotlight a conference on blockchain and its effect on financing, production, and distribution. Other AFM Roundtable sessions include “Boosting Your Micro Budget,” “Using Intellectual Property to Boost the Visibility of LGBTQ Characters,” and “International Awakening.”
AFM managing director Jonathan Wolf stated, “Our expanded programming of more than 40 sessions will address the topics most important to AFM’s global participants.”
