BBC One has brought on actor Charlie Heaton, most known for his role in Stranger Things, for the lead in The Elephant Man.
The two-part drama follows the extraordinary life of Joseph Merrick, from his working-class background to his experience in music halls and freak shows.
Piers Wenger, controller of BBC Drama, stated, “Charlie Heaton promises to be extraordinary in the lead role and we are excited to be telling this powerful, resonant story on BBC One.”
