Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), a media company that serves Hispanic America, has initiated a formal process to explore the sale of the assets comprising the Gizmodo Media Group (GMG) and The Onion. The GMG digital portfolio includes Gizmodo, Jezebel, Deadspin, Lifehacker, Splinter, The Root, The A.V. Club, and more. The company is pursuing the sale to allow UCI to focus more on its core assets.
