The New York Television Festival (NYTVF) announced the official selection for the Independent Pilot Competition. 52 TV and digital pilots will be presented at the 13th annual NYTVF, held from October 23-28, 2017. The slate of competing projects features a diverse set of creative, with 56 percent of selected pilots featuring persons of color above the line and 71 percent including women in a core creative role. There are 31 pilots for comedies, including Bartlett, Benefits with Friends, and Giving Up, among others. There are 13 drama pilots, with After Oil, Caring, and The Green, and more. For animation, there are six pilots showing, while there are two pilots for unscripted series.
