James Gunn, Joel Stillerman and Danny Strong have been named the judges of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television’s 61st annual Samuel Goldwyn Writing Awards, which recognize excellence in dramatic writing. The competition’s five finalists have also been revealed. James Gunn is the writer and director of the box-office hit Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn is also the author of the novel The Toy Collector. Joel Stillerman is the president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV, and responsible for content creation for both networks, where he has overseen shows including Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead, as well as Fear the Walking Dead, Better Call Saul and Into the Badlands. Danny Strong is a writer-director-actor-producer and wrote and produced HBO Films’ Game Change and Recount.
