We’ve now come to the end of the world-famous upfront week, in which the U.S. broadcast networks announce their new season line-ups. Now that all the networks — ABC, CBS, CW, FOX and NBC have announced their pick-ups, we can see some real trends — comic book characters are back, and the shorter-form “event series” is becoming more and more popular.

Here’s a list of what’s new for 2014-2015 from the U.S. broadcast networks:


The Flash

CSI: Cyber
Revolves around a cyber-psychologist crime solver

Madam Secretary
Explores the personal and professional live of a maverick female Secretary of State

NCIS: New Orleans
A spin-off of the popular show, set in the Big Easy

A procedural about an eccentric genius and his international network of super-geniuses who form  the last line of defense against the threats of the modern age

A psychological thriller about a pair of detectives who handle stalking incidents at the LAPD



An upper middle class suburban black man tries to give his kids some sense of identity

A sixth year law student is on the brink of landing her first big (unpaid) internship

Fresh Off the Boat (midseason)
A Chinese-American family (and 12-year-old son) move to suburban Orlando

Galavant (midseason)
A musical comedy fairytale of epic proportions

Manhattan Love Story
Romantic comedy that exposes the differences between men and women through the thoughts of a new couple

American Crime (midseason)
