New Short Media, led by longtime television and film producers Alon Shtruzman (La Brea, Our Boys, In Treatment) and Scott Einbinder (Killer Joe, The Hitman’s Bodyguard), has wrapped production on horror-comedy It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To.
The company plans to release the property in two formats: as a vertical episodic series designed for mobile viewing and as a traditional horizontal feature film intended for theatrical release.
The cast includes Eric Roberts (Runaway Train, The Dark Knight), actor and digital creator Merrick Hanna (America’s Got Talent, Dumb Money), actress and digital creator Neela Jolene (Acting Coach Nightmare, The Goldbergs), actor and digital creator Nicholai Perrett, and rising television actor Ryker Baloun (Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, The Conners).
It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To follows Anna, who races to conceal the shocking truth about her best friend’s death on the night of her 21st birthday. As guests arrive and long-buried secrets begin to surface, Anna confronts betrayal and family revelations that threaten to turn a celebration into a night of lies and fatal consequences.
New Short Media’s slate of more than 10 projects spans scripted and unscripted formats and includes genres such as action, romance, thriller, comedy, crime and docu-reality.
