MIA market has unveiled the program for its upcoming edition, which will take place in Rome on October 19-23, 2026.
Conferences will explore a variety of themes including: Creative excellence vs. commercial scale; the future of independent production; artificial intelligence; horror and emerging genres; documentary and real-life storytelling with filmmakers such as Asif Kapadia and Kim Longinotto; scores, music documentaries, and music biopics; engaging Gen Z and Gen Alpha; vertical drama; and football as a source of IP, among others.
Other highlights of the event are the European Investment Hub, a platform designed to help audiovisual producers understand, access, and secure new forms of European and international financing; the inaugural Animation Series Gap Financing Market, a program exclusively dedicated to animated series for projects that are already backed by broadcasters and largely financed; and the Book Adaptation Forum, which returns to MIA for a second year.
