Korea’s Something Special is representing format Unforgettable Duet, whose second season is premiering in Korea on MBN in primetime on October 31, 2026.
This unscripted series follows a dementia patient and a family member on a journey to remember, with a celebrity host and Korean entertainers who help guide viewers through each family’s emotional journey.
The program integrates Reminiscence Memory content, a new, non-pharmaceutical therapeutic approach that explores how generative AI technology can support memory-trigger therapy for people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. AI is used to create personalized visual representations inspired by the patients’ memories, photographs, and personal records with the aim to help stimulate memory recall and emotional connection.
The potential of this method was first demonstrated in early 2025 through a collaboration between Google Arts & Culture, the University of Toronto, and Domestic Data Streamers.
With support from the Korea Communications Agency, MBN and Something Special have further developed the concept and integrated it into the Unforgettable Duet format, which will be on offer at MIPCOM.
