The 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards — held last night in Los Angeles —saw Apple TV+’s comedy horror Widow’s Bay take home the night’s biggest prizes, including best comedy series, best actor Matthew Rhys, supporting actress Kate O’Flynn and supporting actor Stephen Root.

Rhys made history with the victory, following a win for lead actor in a limited series for Netflix’s The Beast in Me, becoming the first actor to take home two lead acting Emmys in the same season. Meanwhile, Jean Smart of Hacks secured her fifth consecutive Emmy for lead actress in a comedy.

HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt claimed the top drama prize for the second consecutive year, with Noah Wylie repeating his win for lead actor. Rhea Seehorn of Pluribus won lead actress in a drama, while The Diplomat’s Allison Janney took home the award for supporting actress in a drama. Tom Pelphrey won supporting actor in a drama for Task.

Sally Field earned the Emmy for lead actress in a limited series/movie for Netflix’s Remarkably Bright Creatures, while the top prize in that category went to HBO Max’s DTF St. Louis.
