Keshet International has picked up the international action thriller The Escape (Ha’Bricha) commissioned by Keshet 12.
Filmed on location in Colombia, Georgia, and Israel and starring Yehuda Levi (A Body that Works, Trust No One) and Mark Ivanir (Homeland, Big Mistakes), alongside Ido Tako (The Vanishing Soldier, Mary), The Escape is set deep in the Colombian jungle, where a fanatical ultra-Orthodox cult rules with absolute control.
Yoel (Tako), the cult’s gifted heir apparent, secretly dreams of freedom for his wife and their young son. When their escape plan is exposed, Yoel is forced to flee alone, leaving his family behind. Overwhelmed by the outside world, he joins forces with Carmeli (Levi), a haunted ex-Mossad search-and-rescue operative, to bring them out.
Currently in post-production, the eight-episode drama — produced by Reisdor Productions and SE Film Productions — is set to premiere on Israel’s Keshet 12 later this year.
