Sphere Abacus has signed new sales for the psychological thriller series The Game, starring Jason Watkins and Robson Green.

The four-part series has recently been licensed to TV2 in Norway; RUV in Iceland; Disney+ in U.K. and Ireland; CANAL+ and POLAR+  in France, French Speaking Europe, Africa, Romania and Dutch speaking Benelux; Filmin in Portugal and Spain; Mystery Channel in Japan; yes in Israel; Cosmote in Greece; and LRT in Lithuania.

The Game, which is produced in the U.K. by Clapperboard Studios, tells the story of police detective Huw Miller (Watkins) who is haunted by the one murder case he failed to solve – that of prolific serial killer ‘The Ripton Stalker’.

The second season of The Game, which will premiere in the U.K. on 5 tonight, explores obsession, control and the enduring impact of trauma, as the hunter and hunted become increasingly intertwined.

The Game season two has already been sold to Foxtel Group in Australia; SVT in Sweden; Sky in New Zealand; TV2 in Norway; YLE in Finland; CANAL+  in Romania and Dutch speaking Benelux; Cosmote in Cyprus and Greece; LRT in Lithuania; and Pickbox in the CEE territories.
