Brazil’s Globo is set to attend MIP Africa (taking place September 1-3, 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa) in partnership with Côte Ouest (part of Mediawan Africa).

At the trade event, Globo will launch internationally Queen of Myself, a telenovela written by Rosane Svartman (Never Give Up, Total Dreamer) and directed by Allan Fiterman.

The story follows Leona (Clara Moneke), whose life is transformed by her relationship with Sofia (Elis Cabral), a seven-year-old girl for whom she becomes a nanny. Their encounter sparks a journey of affection, care, companionship, and human connection.

On September 2, at the Onyx Hotel, the company will also host a lunch to showcase its main titles and presence in the territory.

Côte Ouest, Globo’s long-standing partner for over 25 years, is handling distribution of the Globo slate across the continent and beyond.

“Globo’s presence at MIP Africa highlights our commitment to the African continent, where we have built a strong track record. We want to broaden the reach of our stories and strengthen our connection with audiences. Titles like Queen of Myself and the new version of Anything Goes showcase the strength of our storytelling and its ability to resonate with different realities and cultures around the world,” said Rodrigo Nascimento, head of International Sales – EMEA of Globo.
