Hot Docs will screen 16 documentary features as part of its Special Presentations programming track.

The Special Presentations portion presents a collection of world and international premieres. The titles to be showcased include Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert’s American Factory, Ryan White’s Ask Dr. Ruth, Mads Brügger’s Cold Case Hammarskjöld, Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce’s Framing John Delorean, Joan Tosoni and Martha Kehoe’s Gordon Lightfoot: If You Could Read My Mind, Erin Lee Carr’s I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth Vs. Michelle Carter, Stanley Nelson’s Miles Davis: Birth Of The Cool, and Richard Lowenstein’s Mystify: Michael Hutchence.

The track is rounded out by Nanfu Wang and Jialing Zhang’s One Child Nation, Mark Franchetti and Andrew Meier’s Our Godfather, Ian Cheney and Martha Shane’s Picture Character, Johnny Sweet’s Quiet Storm: The Ron Artest Story, Ai Weiwei’s The Rest, Henrik Georgsson’s Stieg Larsson: The Man Who Played With Fire, Laurence Mathieu-Leger’s Willie, and Tim Travers Hawkin’s XY Chelsea.

Special Presentations will take part during the 2019 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, which will take place from April 25-May 5, 2019.
