A+E Networks will be co-producing Scars of Nanking with China’s Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation. The one-hour docu-drama tells the history of American missionaries who attempted to save Chinese civilians from war crimes by Japanese forces. The docu-drama is in support of a feature-length documentary titled Scars of Nanjing: 80 Years AfterScars of Nanking will debut on December 13 on History in the U.S., History Asia and on Jiangsu Satellite TV in China.

In other A+E news, A+E Networks UK commissioned Woodcut Media to produce the factual series Combat Machines, the third title in the ‘Combat’ franchise, after Combat Ships and Combat Trains. Distributed by TCB Media Rights, Combat Machines will premiere on History in the U.K. in 2018.
