The 21st edition of the Zanzibar International Film Festival, which will take place from July 8-15, opened its film submissions for the 2018 competition and screening. This year’s theme is “Speak Up and Be Heard.” This year the festival includes two new categories, Best TV Series and Best Web Series. The other festival award categories are the Official ZIFF Awards, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Feature – Dhow Countries, Best Short – Dhow Countries, Best Film – International, and Best Animation. The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2018.
