CBS Studios International announced a number of first time licensing deals for its TV formats. CBSSI licensed Wheel of Fortune to EAP Broadcasting Company in Sri Lanka and Kurdmax TV in Iraqi Kurdistan. Additionally, TVP in Poland and Discovery Network in Finland have acquired the format rights to Wheel of Fortune. The popular game show format premiered in the U.S. in 1975 and is one of the longest lasting TV games shows in American TV. In other news: Japan’s Tokyo Broadcasting Systems (TBS) acquired The Good Wife as a scripted format; The Charisma Group picked up the format rights to The Insider entertainment news magazine; the medical talk show The Doctors was licensed to GMG Production in Moldova; and a local production of Carpool Karaoke will roll out across the Middle East.
