Starz is developing the coming-of-age book Sweetbitter, a novel by Stephanie Danler, into a half-hour drama series. Danler wrote the script for the first episode. Plan B Entertainment brought on Stu Zicherman to help develop the script with Danler. Danler and Zicherman will serve as executive producers along with Plan B. Sweetbitter tells the story of 22-year-old Tess who moves to New York City and finds work at a downtown restaurant. Starz will hold all global distribution and home entertainment rights.
