The Hot Docs Board of Directors has selected producer Daniel Cross to receive the 2017 Don Haig Award at this year’s Hot Docs Festival, held from April 27 to May 7. Cross will receive a $10,000 cash prize as courtesy of the Don Haig Foundation and Telefilm Canada. He will be given the award at the Hot Docs Awards Presentation on May 5. In addition, today at the Hot Docs Forum, it was revealed that new pitch prizes that total $100,000 CDN will be given to two projects part of Hot Docs first look, a curated access program for supports and investors in documentary film.
