Tokyo Phoenix: The Rise of Modern Japan will make its world premiere at MIPDoc 2017, to be held in Cannes, France, April 1-2, 2017. Made possible by NHK, Arte France, and CC&C, the documentary uses archival footage from France, Britain, Germany, and Russia to chronicle the development of Tokyo from the first half of the 20th century. The MIPDoc screening is scheduled for April 2 at the JW Marriott Grand Theatre. Following the screening, a discussion will take place about how future events in Tokyo offer an opportunity to increase the city’s visibility.
