The Federal Communications Commission has approved a joint petition filed in July of 2016 by Televisa and Univision that allows the former of the two companies to own a bigger share of the latter. Televisa’s 14.4 percent voting interest and 10 percent equity of Univision was consented by the FCC to increase to a total of 49 percent.
