American Supergroup, a music competition showcasing the creation of a new band, will premiere on CBS-Lionsgate joint venture Pop. The series, which will debut October 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET, will also air on MTV Live and MTV Classic on the 13 and 14, respectively. 25 finalists will be selected to form five groups in pop, pop-country, traditional country, pop-rock, R&B, metal, Latin American and alternative genres. Audiences will vote for contestants through social media platforms and an exclusive app. The series will run for 9 weeks on all networks and will include eight one-hour episodes and a 90-minute finale.
