Reed Midem has unveiled the three Media Mastermind keynote speakers for this year’s MIPCOM content market, which runs in Cannes from October 17-20. These speakers will explore the theme of this year’s conference, which is “The New Television.” Ben Sherwood is co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney-ABC Television Group. Sherwood will outline how Disney has been ahead of the curve in the TV industry, pointing to the success of MIPCOM 2016 Personality of the Year Shonda Rhimes. David Linde, CEO of Participant Media, Jeff Skoll’s socially minded entertainment company, will focus on the company’s aim to create impact on pressing social issues. Sophie Watts, president of global media company STX Entertainment, will discuss “reimagining and building a 21st century media company from the ground up”, and will explore how STX Entertainment approaches the challenges and opportunities of the evolving global media landscape.
