Independent distributor all3media International has signed two new local format adaptations in Southern Europe for Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell. TVI has commissioned Portugal’s first local version of Kitchen Nightmares, the factual entertainment format that sees a leading restaurateur providing struggling restaurants with tough love and practical insight to turn their businesses around. Shine Iberia will produce the Portuguese version, with a thirteen-episode series launching on TVI later this year. In Spain, La Sexta has ordered a sixth season of Kitchen Nightmares. Also in Spain, Discovery has commissioned the first local adaptation of Hotel Hell, in a deal which will see an eight-episode series going into production with Shine Iberia. The series follows an expert hotelier on a tour of the country’s worst hotels and offers his suggestions.
