The online video platform has ordered a full season of Lionsgate’s drama series Step Up. Based on the film franchise, the musical drama is about dancers in a contemporary performing arts school. Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gigbot and Meredith Milton, all producers on the original films, will executive produce alongside Step Up’s original stars Channing tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum. The series will begin production later this year and will debut as the first original scripted series on YouTube Red, a paid membership, next year.
