The 82nd Venice Film Festival came to close on Saturday, September 6, with the closing ceremony taking place in the evening at the Lido’s Palazzo del Cinema.
The principal winners of the festival — selected from 21 titles in competition — include Jim Jarmusch’s three-part dramedy Father Mother Sister Brother, which won the Golden Lion for Best Film; Kaouther Ben Hania’s Gaza-set feature The Voice of Hind Rajab, which won the Grand Jury prize; Benny Safdie for the Dwayne Johnson/Emily Blunt starrer The Smashing Machine, which won the Silver Lion for Best Director; and Gianfranco Rosi’s documentary Below the Clouds, which won the Special Jury Prize.
