At the recently concluded 29th edition of Cartoons On The Bay, held in Pescara May 29-June 1, the Pulcinella Award for Best Animated Feature Film was bestowed to “A Boat in the Garden” (Luxembourg), directed by Jean-François Laguionie.
Members of the jury included Rob Minkoff (director of The Lion King), Alberto Rigoni (head of Content and Productions at Lucca Crea, the company behind Lucca Comics), and Flavio Natalia (editor of Ciak).
Special Mention for Best Screenplay went to Link Click: Bridon Arc (China), directed by Haolin; Special Mention for Best Director was awarded to Memory Hotel (Germany), directed by Heinrich Sabl; and Special Mention for Best Animation went to The Light of Aisha (Spain), directed by Shadi Adib.
Italy received a Special Mention for Best Soundtrack for Bartali’s Bicycle, produced by Lynx Multimedia Factory in collaboration with Rai Kids, and the Renato Pallavicini Plaque for Balentes.
Cartoons On The Bay, the animation festival directed by Roberto Genovesi, is promoted by Rai and organized by Rai Com, in collaboration with the Abruzzo Region and the Municipality of Pescara.
