Israel-based studio SIPUR and Israeli broadcaster Reshet 13 have entered a multi-year co-financing and co-production agreement. The deal will enable them to jointly select scripted, format and documentary projects for both the global market and Reshet 13.
Meir Kotler, deputy CEO at Reshet 13, said, “Investing in original local content is of the upmost importance and we at Reshet 13 view this as a growth driver. Collaborating with a partner such as SIPUR will increase the scope of our investment in local talent and creativity, thus not only benefiting Reshet 13 but the local production industry as a whole.”
Emilio Schenker, CEO of SIPUR, said, “This deal provides us with a long-term launchpad for new international co-productions. We couldn’t be more pleased than to be in business with the talented teams at Reshet 13 on this strategy, which we have been successfully implementing both inside and outside of Israel.”
SIPUR has the financial backing of many institutional investors, including Israel’s largest bank, Poalim Equity, as well as Clal Insurance Enterprises and IBI Investment House. The studio extended its first-look co-development, co-production and co-financing deal with MGM in May 2022, and has also teamed up with The North Road Company for its first international co-studio scripted deal, Bad Boy, the latest series from Euphoria creator Ron Leshem.
