Kenyan film Safari, produced by Rocque Pictures, directed by Kenyan Bill Afwani, and distributed by Rushlake Media, will have its world-premiere at the Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on October 17. Multiplatform network Rushlake Media (headquartered in Cologne, Germany) acquired the film for international sales prior to the festival selection and will represent the feature globally.

The film follows Safari, a wheelchair-bound boy, and his friend Kiki, on an adventure to see as many wild animals in real life as possible, but they come across evil poachers. The tale of Safari touches on many elements of life in rural Kenya today, yet still manages to convey the playfulness of traditional children’s adventure stories. The feature was partially funded by the Kenya Film Commission.
