Netflix announced that the documentary André & his olive tree will launch globally on December 8, 2020 across 190 countries outside of Singapore.
Produced by AMOK, the intimate film portrays Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur André Chiang, the owner of Restaurant Andrew in Singapore and RAW in Taipei. Directed by Singaporean filmmaker Josiah Ng, the documentary was filmed over two years and chronicled pivotal moments in Chiang’s life.
Chiang commented, “Through this film, I hope viewers will see a side of me that is on an endless pursuit of returning to ‘the beginner’s mind’ – a concept referring to reset to the original state of satisfaction in one’s mind and explore the world once again with the innocent senses.”
