The State Radio and Television System of Panama (SERTV) and the World Association of Women in the Audiovisual Industry (WAWA) teamed up for the production of Mujeres Extraordinarias (Extraordinary Women).
Produced by WAWA, the series will pay tribute the heroines around the world who impact the lives of many across different areas of society. Hosted by international journalist María Elena Useche, the eight-episode series will premiere in 2021.
Roxana Rotundo, chairwoman of the Board of Directors of WAWA, stated, “Our first series wanted to honor those women who, by their own choice, live extraordinary lives helping others and now with SERTV we will meet many of those women who live in Panama.”
Giselle González Villaruebe, general director of SERTV, added, “With this alliance, SERTV takes a first step towards achieving a great goal to become a benchmark state channel in the region for its quality content that generates values for the citizen-audience, while reaffirming our commitment to contribute to gender equality.”
