Aetios Production and Fiction’Air confirmed that 30 Vies (30 Lives) has been picked up by France 2.
Co-produced by Fiction’Air, part of Banijay Production Media, and Banijay Studios, the show is an adaptation based on the Quebec series of the same title. Starring Guillaume Labbé, the Aetios series follows the trials and tribulations of a high school teacher and his students. The original Quebec series was produced by writer Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau of Aetios Productions, and it aired on Radio-Canada from 2011 to 2016.
Denis Leroy, head of Scripted Formats at Banijay Studios International, remarked, “30 Lives is universally relevant and extensive in terms of episodes. Having already captured the attention of drama series judges throughout the global award circuits, it has a strong track record, and will no doubt thrive in France and Belgium. In France, the show will tackle the life of today’s schools and teens – those who are actually building tomorrow’s world. Brimming with lots of personal stories, it highlights the day-to-day for teachers and teens, and recognizes how they all face the challenging times presented to them.”
