Now the ball is in Hulu’s court.
With Comcast winning the bid for Sky, the group has to decide if it should sell its 30 percent stake in the streaming service Hulu to Disney, and if in turn, Disney should sell its 39 percent of Sky to Comcast.
By winning the bid over Disney for Sky, Comcast now owns 61 percent of the British sat service, with the remaining owned by Disney. Comcast also owns 30 percent of Hulu. Disney started with 30 percent of Hulu, but increased its stake to 60 percent when it bought, with the rest of the package, the shares owned by 21st Century Fox.
AT&T owns the remaining 10 percent of Hulu.
