The Palm Springs International Comedy Festival (PSICF) announced Kathy Griffin as the Comedian of the Year for its first annual event.
The festival will include a red carpet, dinner awards gala, and competition series. Comedians, sketch artists, and various TV and web projects will be showcased. Festival director Paul Cruz stated, “Kathy is the one comedian that is literally on the minds and mouths of the world. She boldly and bravely spoke Truth to Power, was blacklisted, harassed and shunned for it, but has now emerged like a fiery phoenix from the ashes.”
The festival will run from November 16-18, 2018.
